I taught myself to crochet using YouTube in 2010. It quickly became a bit of an obsession. I realised that if something didn't change, my house would quickly be overrun with crocheted blankets, toys and other bits and pieces. So I opened my Etsy store to sell the things I make.
I'm often asked how I came up with the name "Yillup". When I was in high school a friend tried saying my name (Kylie) backwards. She completely mucked it up and instead "Yillup" came out. I've used Yillup as my online name since I started using the internet (which I'm a little embarrassed to admit was a very loooong time ago - back when you had to wait a few minutes while the dial up connected, and where computers with a hard drive of 500MB was top of the range! LOL). No-one ever has the name "Yillup", so I don't have to think of numbers and extras to add to my name.
